In my Washington office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. This internship is unpaid, but academic credit may be available. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session. Our office is also willing to work with intern candidates who are available part-time.
Duties may include giving Capitol tours, answering phones, data entry, attending meetings, and assisting staff with legislative research and correspondence. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office.
My office is now accepting applications for spring 2015.
If you would like more information, or to apply for an internship, please contact our office at Mi03.firstname.lastname@example.org. Required application materials include a resume, cover letter, and brief writing sample. Please include "Rep. Amash Internship" in the subject line for all applications.
