Amash earns award for taxpayer-friendly voting record
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) this week received the “Taxpayers’ Friend Award” from the National Taxpayers Union in recognition of the “A” grade he earned for his 2016 voting record. His score of 93 percent on the organization’s 2016 scorecard earned him the highest rating in the House of Representatives.
“I will continue the fight for fiscal responsibility, federalism, and free markets to increase our nation’s prosperity and maximize happiness,” said Amash.
The National Taxpayers Union gives an “A” grade to U.S. representatives and senators whose voting records demonstrate a commitment to low taxes, responsible spending, and fiscally sustainable governance. Amash has earned this recognition each year he has served in Congress, making this his sixth consecutive award.
